Second Annual Regional Economic Development Summit
March 12, 2009 at MSCTC
Community Based Entrepreneurship is the key topic at the second annual Regional Economic Development Summit on Thursday, March 12, 2009 in Detroit Lakes. You're invited to learn how our area can excel, grow and create - through an engaging presentation by keynote speaker Dave Ivan!
Ivan is Michigan State University Extension's director for Clinton County. He has also served as an associate state program leader for their economic and community development initiative. Ivan's message will center on what it takes to grow business in smaller communities. How can those in the community support those who are willing to take risks by starting a new venture?
Besides Ivan's presentation, you'll hear local business success stories. Representatives from the City of Detroit Lakes and Becker County will provide updates on progress in the business redevelopment corridor, as suggested by RDG Planning & Design.
Registration begins at 8:00 am at Minnesota State Community & Technical College's Conference Center. Continental breakfast will be served before the presentations begin. The summit concludes with included lunch. Cost is $20 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members. Use the form to register by Tuesday, March 10. E-mail dlchamber@visitdetroitlakes.com with questions or call 847-9202. Please join us on March 12 for a stimulating morning of upbeat business presentations!
