"See You at the Lakes" is heard daily throughout the Detroit Lakes 412 Lakes Region whether you are a resident or visitor.The community of Detroit Lakes had its beginning in 1871 with the arrival of the Northern Pacific Railway. It soon became the economic hub of the region serving as the County Seat of Becker County.
The community, by working together in partnership with business, government and citizens, have built, advanced, and enhanced a community and region which is enjoyed by its residents and visitors.
