Spring & Summer

Detroit Lakes: It's all here, all year. Check us out.

Spring

Savor sweet spring with the "westernmost" Maple Syrup Festival in Vergas. Take a tour. Taste the harvest.

Spring also brings out the lions and tigers and bears. Detroit Lakes loves a good circus - there are two.

Flea market season begins with Memorial Day weekend. Antiques, collectibles and unique crafts fill the huge Shady Hollow Flea Market on holiday weekends and Sundays through the summer.

Summer

Don't burn daylight: With summer's welcome sunshine and warmth, you can stay plenty busy in Detroit Lakes. Art shows, fireworks, music festivals, Pow Wows, city celebrations, horseback riding, BMX bike racing, car shows, the Becker County Fair - at Detroit Lakes they'll do anything to enjoy the great outdoors at the lakes.

Try something new. Catch a tram ride to transport your boat between Muskrat Lake and Lake Sallie. Operators available on weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Finally, top your Detroit Lakes' visit off with the fresh tastes of the season. Pick out the best fruits and vegetables, locally grown and sold at the Lakes Area Farmers Market at People's Park on Rossman Avenue one block from the city beach each Tuesday and Saturday from 10 am-2 pm June-October.
