Street Faire at the Lakes
It's six blocks of art, music, entertainment and food. Our Street Faire at Detroit Lakes, Minnesota has it all. On May 31-June 1, 2008, Detroit Lakes cordons off the downtown for the first, big outdoor event of the season.One hundred and twenty-five juried artists set up their paintings, sculptures, pottery, jewelry and other first class art along Washington Avenue. Musicians stroll the sidewalks. Bands perform from a main stage, free to attendees.
There's something for everyone. Your children will love the balloons, having their faces painted and riding on the carnival rides. You can mellow out with classic folk music or soothing Bluegrass. Or, put on your dancing shoes for the Saturday night street dance.
